Located on the 24th floor of Sheraton Mall of Emirates, Shine Spa is a peaceful retreat to rejuvenate and relax. There is a lot to talk about this premium spa but one thing that appealed us the most was its vegan facial treatments with the leading British brand, Elemis. Elemis products blend together all the natural ingredients and allow your skin to breathe and shine bright after a chemical-free facial treatment.
And, who does not adore Dubai skyline’s breath-taking views? Shine Spa will neither disappoint you for its gripping views. As you come out of the elevator on the 24th floor, you enter a visitor’s lounge with views over the city. The floor consist of a spa facility, a gymnasium and two roof top pools with panoramic views, of course including those of Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Arabian sea.
The reception area at Shine Spa has a wide façade and is designed with muted tones. The spa has five treatment rooms including a couple’s treatment room. The welcome at the reception was quite warm and polite. After I filled up the consultation form, the therapist Daisy showed me to the locker, consisting of all the essentials like bathrobe and sleepers, in the changing room and also gave a tour of the treatment rooms. Designed in subtle tones, all the treatment rooms are spacious and boasts of a contemporary design and soothing background music.
The spa’s menu is a good mix of vegan facials, and massages. I was keen on exploring Elemis Superfood Pro-radiance facial. The treatment began with a mild face steaming. Further, it included scrub, a peel mask, essential oil face massage and the glow mask at the end. The dry massages during the treatment- head, shoulder and arms- are what a weary body looks for. Hence, after an hour long treatment which passed just too quickly, I felt relaxed, energised, and I could immediately notice the shine on the face.
At the end of the treatment, you can enjoy a cup of organic tea in a dimly lit relaxation lounge.
