Connector March 2023

CONNECTOR.AE 3 Welcome Have you ever thought about rowing non stop for over 4,800 kilometres across the largest and deepest ocean in the world, where for a lot of the time you will be that far away from dry land that the nearest human being to you will be on board the International Space Station? This month we spoke with a team of men who are doing just that, and at the same time trying to set a world record of doing it in under 40 days, as well as raising money for two charities. Read about their challenges, motivations and preparations on pages 43 to 46. As March comes to a close, we enter the Holy Month of Ramadan, and with it comes the opportunity to break the fast while spending time with friends and family. Hotels and restaurants are putting their plans together, and in our next issue we will have a more detailed round up of as many of Dubai’s Iftars as possible, but till then we have selected a few for those wanting to plan ahead and see what choices they have on pages 19 to 22. There’s a lot more in this issue including a round up of some of Dubai’s Turkish restaurants, how to keep children entertained over the Spring Break, some ideas for Mother’s Day gifts and an interview with the Emirati chef behind the food we enjoy when we fly Emirates.
