Sharjah authorities have announced that it will close Sheikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Road for 20 days starting today. The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) said that maintenance work, standing at Dhs 1.4 million, will be carried out between Al Abar and Dasman areas. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes during the road closure.
The first phase start from Dasman area driving from the Cultural Square roundabout heading towards Sheikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi intersection. Daily road works will be carried out from 11pm to 6am.
The second phase will start in the opposite direction in Al Abar area from 7th to 16th April travelling from Sheikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi intersection to the Cultural Square roundabout. Daily road works will start from 11pm to 6am.
"The road development, being done as per the highest international standards, will give a boost to the performance of the road and the entire road network of the emirate for the benefit of the public."
The SRTA said the maintenance works will include replacing the existing asphalt top layer, expanding the U-turn opposite the Sharjah Archaeological Museum, and adding sign roads in the areas. For complains and suggestions, residents can contact the authority on 600 525252.
