Global Musicians To Perform At Dubai Metro Stations

With the onset of art month around town, a new artistic inclusion is going to make the metro ride for commuters so much more pleasurable.

From 17-23 March, 25 musicians from around the world and across different musical genres, will be performing live at five metro stations.

The first of its kind event is being organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to promote tolerance and inclusiveness through the universal language of music.

Selected metro stations include the ones with the highest footfall and include Burjuman, Union, DMCC, Mall of the Emirates, and Burj Khalifa.

Musicians will be performing traditional and non-traditional genres of music for all seven days at five selected metro stations in rotation so you won’t miss even a single artist’s performance.

Musicians, including traditional musicians, street performers, classical instrumentalists and fusion musicians, coming for the music fest are quite renowned in their respective countries.

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), said: “The Metro Music Festival is a wonderful celebration of Dubai’s spirit of cultural diversity and inclusiveness. The Festival was created in line with the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to create an environment in Dubai for art, music and culture to flourish. The event will convey Dubai’s messages of harmony and tolerance in the universal language of music. This initiative is part of Brand Dubai’s efforts to develop initiatives that highlight Dubai’s unique character as one of the world’s most culturally diverse and inclusive cities.”
