After playing host to the world’s most expensive shoes, Dubai is all set to showcase another extraordinary jewellery exhibition featuring rare French royal pieces.
Part of Marie-Antoinette’s, the last Queen of France, personal jewellery collection has arrived and is available to view here in Dubai. The exhibition is being held at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) until 11 October and displays some of the Queen’s favourite items, including pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, a diamond brooch, a single strand natural pearl necklace and two brooches with yellow diamonds. The royal jewellery on display is estimated to be worth around Dhs 10 million.
That’s not all, visitors will also get the opportunity to view a portrait by Rembrandt estimated to be worth over Dhs 29 million.
This is likely to be the last chance to see these rare jewels in public before they go under hammer in Switzerland later this year.
