Busy Period At Dubai Airport This Weekend

Ahead of Spring break and potential public holiday on the occasion of Al Isra'a Wal Mi’raj, Dubai residents who have plans for holidays have been warned that the airport terminals will be busier than usual over the weekend, as well as on Tuesday.

Emirates Airlines issued a statement on its website on Wednesday saying that the airline is expecting more than 200,000 passengers travelling to and from Dubai between Friday, March 9 and Tuesday, 2 April.

According to the Emirates Airlines, Friday, 29 March is expected to be the busiest day of all with more than 42,000 travellers taking flights from Terminal 3.

Spring break in Dubai schools starts on Saturday, 30 March and though, no official announcements have been made, it is expected that the UAE will observe a public holiday on April 3 on the occasion of Al Isra'a Wal Mi’raj.

The airline advises,  “Customers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight departure to avoid any delays.”

It adds, “Peak travel is expected to continue until Tuesday 2 April 2019 with more than 205,000 Emirates passengers travelling from Dubai to destinations beyond.  During this time, Emirates will also be welcoming more than 160,000 passengers to and through Dubai.”

“With road works continuing to cause delays around main airport highways and roads during this time, Emirates urges customers to build in extra time for their journeys to avoid potential delays.”
