Road Closures Announced In Abu Dhabi From Today

Over 135,000 people are expected to gather at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi for the Papal Mass on Tuesday, 5 February conducted by Pope Francis as part of his historic visit to the UAE

To ensure the smooth flow of the high volume of traffic expected for the Papal Mass, the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced partial and full road closures from 6pm on Monday, 4 February to 6pm on Tuesday 5 February. Roads fully closed include Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, Saif Ghubash Street and Al Bahah Street will be closed in both directions.

The Department of Transport has also announced changes to the frequency of bus services inside Abu Dhabi Island from 3pm on Monday, February 4 to 3pm on Tuesday  5 February. Bus services will be less frequent than normal and commuters should only expect one bus every 60 minutes. All bus services will resume as normal from 3pm onwards on Tuesday, 5 February.
