The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has stated that the new employee insurance will begin on October 15. Establishments will have the choice of two options: buy insurance that can be instantly issued at Tasheel or Tadbeer, or submit a Dhs 3,000 bank guarantee for their employees.
Regarding domestic workers, the new regulations will provide protection for both the employees and the employer themselves. The insurance policy covers the cost of replacing the worker due to health issues or the worker’s desire to terminate their employment. The insurance will also cover unpaid wages and the worker’s end of service benefit, leave allowance and overtime allowance, as well as a return ticket.
The insurance documents are available online application and at Tasheel or Tadbeer service centres.
