Dubai Airport Records It's Highest Passenger Traffic For July

July is always seen as the start of the travel and vacation season, in the UAE and in across the rest of the world, which ultimately saw Dubai International Airport (DXB), record it's second busiest month ever for passenger numbers.

According the monthly traffic report issued by Dubai Airports, DXB once again passed the 8 million passenger mark.

The airport witnessed 8 million passengers on three occasions prior to this, in January 2017 (8.03m), July 2017 (8.06m) and August 2017 (8.23m). This time around, passengers using DXB totalled 8,207,987, a figure up by 1.8% compared to 8.06m traffic recorded in July 2017.

The growth is down to a number of factors including new routes from low cost carrier flyDubai and an increase in traffic from Eastern European, up by 24.4% in comparison to last year.

India retained its position as the top destination with 1,032,302 passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia at 583,975 passengers and the UK with 581,557 passengers.

London, with 358,201 passengers, topped the list of the most popular destination served from DXB by traffic volume in July, followed by Kuwait (221,696), Mumbai (209,205) and Riyadh (200,411).
