Sheikh Mohammed Notes Work Dissatisfaction Among Employees

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai has expressed his disappointment with some federal government offices over “unacceptable employee satisfaction ratings”. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has given the managers of federal government departments a period of six months to improve the employee satisfaction ratings.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed took to Twitter to show his dissatisfaction. In his tweet he mentioned that he reviewed the employees satisfaction reports of 40 federal government departments and only  60 per cent of employees at these entities said they were satisfied at their workplace. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed further added that the ratios are unacceptable and gave six month’s deadline to improve the work environment for employees.

HH Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the government's most expensive capital is its employees

Earlier this month, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed introduced new work regulations to improve employee satisfaction- including increase in annual leave days, promotion opportunities and option to work from afar.

Annual leave was increased from 22 days to 25 for grade 8 employees, with grade 7 workers getting an increase from 15 days to 18.

A week ago, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed led a delegation in a surprise visit to Dubai International Airport to assess their services. During his visit, he urged staff to "raise the bar" for customer service.
