A woman was tragically found dead in her apartment on Thursday. The woman, was said to be visited by her boyfriend in her Dubai Marina apartment when the couple had an argument. The argument is said to have escalated into physical violence when the man assaulted her while under the influence of alcohol.
Lieutenant-Colonel Faisal Issa Al Qasim, the director of security media said that, "While there, an argument broke out between them. The defendant punched her, which broke her nose and caused internal bleeding, leading to her death.”
The defendant said that the assault occurred as an act of rage and he did not realise “it would lead to her death.” The defendant cleaned up the crime scene before returning home, leaving her unattended.
After the victim was not contactable, a colleague became concerned about her whereabouts and decided to visit her at home. The colleague’s police statement read: "I was surprised to see that the door was open and things were scattered around. I saw my friend in a pool of blood and immediately called the police.”
Lieutenant-Colonel Al Qasim said that the suspect confessed to the crime “within minutes,” of the police’s arrival.
It is said that the couple were experiencing problems in their relationship, with the victim posting, "Do not be surprised if someone breaks your trust. You lose confidence in yourself and others when you discover that the traitor is the closest person to you,” to her Facebook page days before.
