In a major shift for the UAE's public schools, it has been announced by the Ministry of Education that girls and boys will be educated together.
Grade 1 classes at all public schools will be co-educational from the upcoming academic year starting in September.
The decision has been made that all public schools will be co-educational from grade 1 to 5. However, the change will be implemented on a yearly basis, beginning with grade 1 classes in all public schools.
