Why Your Mobile Reads 'UAE KSA Together'

It is fascinating how telecom companies du and Etisalat change the network names occasionally to mark important dates in the UAE. Recently, the network names were changed to Zayed Humanitarian Day, in honour of the day dedicated to the good deeds and achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

You may have noticed that on Thursday, 7 June, the mobile network names were again changed and this time it said  ‘UAE KSA Together’. The new name has not been reinstated to its regular name yet.  Are you wondering why the networks have changed names this time? Well, here’s the reason behind it.

Change in the network name is to show support for the historic meeting of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council in Jeddah on Wednesday evening. However, this is not the first time that the network names have changed to 'UAE KSA Together', last year in September, the telecom companies changed their network names to ‘UAE KSA Together’ to celebrate Saudi National Day.
