The Ministerial Council for Development has approved the school calendar for both private and public schools that follow the ministry curriculum, as well as private education schools that follow foreign curricula in the country for the next three years (2018-2021).
As per the circular, the new session for students will start from 2 September 2018 and will end on 4 July 2019. The total duration of the school year will be 182 days which has been slightly increased from 175 days. Meanwhile, the academic staff will join work on 26 August, 2018.
For public and private schools, which follow the ministry curriculum, the winter break will be for 20 working days starting from 16 December 2018 until 10 January 2019. The spring break will be 10 working days starting from 31 March 2019 to 11 April 2019.
For private schools which follow a foreign curriculum, the winter break will be 3 weeks starting from 16 December 2018 to 3 January 2019. The spring break will be 2 weeks starting from 31 March 2019 and will end on 11 April, 2019.
