Dubai Police are now issuing fines to motorists praying on the roadside

Dubai Police are now issuing fines to motorists who park on the side of the road to pray. The fine will be Dhs 500.

The fine comes after an accident occurred on Saturday evening where two people were killed and six were injured whilst praying.

The driver lost control after his tyre blew out and hit the group of people offering Maghreb prayers.

He was allegedly speeding before the incident occurred.

The incident occurred on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Dubai Police urge motorists to pray at mosques and petrol stations rather than endangering themselves and others on the roadside. This is one of many road accidents that have occurred since the weekend.
