Visitors will be served by robots with the launch of the country’s second smart pharmacy at Dubai Hospital. The first was launched at Rashid Hospital earlier this year. In a move to minimise human error, Dubai Hospital will be using this technology to dispense prescribed medication. The paper-free process will take place with the click of a button based on bar codes, resulting in reduced waiting time and around 12 prescriptions being dispensed in less than one minute. Robot stores will receive the prescriptions as soon as doctors document it electronically. Chairman of the board and Director General of DHA, Humaid Al Qatami stated the plan was to introduce robots in all DHA hospitals.
