Is the 20km/h buffer still in place?

The new traffic rules that came to effect on Saturday, July 1 saw increased fines and black points on some of the existing offences. Many of the fines relate to over-speeding, blocking traffic flow, lane discipline and wearing seat belts.

Dubai previously had a 20km/h buffer over speed limits for radar flashes. For example, while the speed limit on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road is 120km/h, the radar flash has been set at 141km/h. On Sheikh Zayed Road, the speed limit is 100km/hr, and radar flash has been set at 121km/h.

Now, with the new rules and increased fines the 20km/h buffer is still valid.
