Honestly, my wife is obsessed with teeth and since moving here I’ve had a lot of work done on them. The only way to protect that investment is to carry out regular check-ups and hygienist visits to make sure they stay clean and healthy. I’ve heard a lot about Dr Michaels Dental Clinic so I was more than happy to open wide, excuse the pun!
What was involved?
bn bThe hygienist gave me a full clean and polish, ensuring that all the hard to reach areas were given a good scrub! She also checked my gums to make sure there were no problems, and gave me advice on how to floss properly so I could avoid plaque building up in the areas I’d missed.
After my teeth were nice and clean, I went to see the dentist for a full check-up. As he didn’t have my records, the first thing we needed was a set of X-rays. Although slightly uncomfortable, having X-rays taken every couple of years is a great way to track the condition of your teeth, and can help the dentist identify problems that may have started since your last visit. As well as the normal teeth X-rays, I also had a full head scan of my jawbone and teeth profile. As your teeth can be affected by other issues, having your jaw and lymph nodes checked during your visit can help the dentist detect other serious diseases.
Verdict
The staff and service at Dr Michaels more than lived up to its reputation, and it’s clear to see why they are one of the most popular dentists in Dubai. I left with clean teeth and a confident smile, knowing the wife would be happy!
How much?
The costs of the treatments were Dhs 550 for teeth cleaning, Dhs 350 for a general consultation, Dhs 350 for OPG (orthopantomogram, rotational panoramic X-ray) and Dhs 80 for the X-Rays.
