Review: Ronda Locatelli at Atlantis

Giorgio Locatelli has created a rustic, warm and inviting venue that serves authentic, classic Italian cuisine blended seamlessly with new flavours using the freshest of ingredients at Ronda Locatelli in Atlantis, The Palm. The food is served family style from brick-oven pizzas and antipasti to delicate pastas and items from the wood oven, with favourite classics like Homemade Beef Lasagne. Make sure you check it out on a cool evening as there’s a beautiful outside terrace, lined with olive trees reminiscent of Chef Giorgio Locatelli’s Sicilian olive grove where he makes his renowned olive oil.

What we ate

We started with the beef carpaccio with rocket and the honeydew melon with Parma ham and a selection of breads and dips. For the mains, hubby chose the char-grilled lamb, mint and peas puree with artichoke and I had the seafood pasta with garlic and chilli. The starters were on the large side - when the menu says suitable to share they really do mean it! So we were too pleasantly full to indulge in anything other than the sorbet ice-cream selection for dessert.

Verdict

Loved the venue! The food was fantastic and they were really accommodating for food intolerances. Once I’d ordered my gluten free pasta, the gluten free bread appeared freshly made without me having to order it. We turned up starving and were definitely in the right place - yum!
