The international supercalifragilistic hit musical, is flying onto the Dubai Opera stage from 1st to 18th May. It’s the story of magical nanny, Mary Poppins, who arrives on Cherry Tree Lane with her bottomless carpet bag and umbrella and transforms the lives of the Banks family. Set in Edwardian London, with the help of chimney sweep, Bert, Mary Poppins takes care of Jane and Michael Banks, teaching the children the true values of a happy life.
The stage version of Mary Poppins is brilliantly adapted from the wonderful stories by PL Travers and the beloved Walt Disney film. It is co-created by producer Cameron Mackintosh and has a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes. It’s timeless score, by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman, includes the songs Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and additional music and lyrics by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The producer for Disney Theatrical Productions is Thomas Schumacher.
